Girls Football Success
Well done to Sophie, Esme and Hollie in Year 9 who play for Bury FC. All three students won the Lancashire County Cup, South Manchester Girls League Challenge Cup, South Manchester Girls League, League Cup and came South Manchester Girls League Runners-Up all at U15s. Well done also to Mrs Golding who coaches and manages the team. They have all had a fantastic Football season.
Boys Rugby League Success
Bury Church entered Rugby League teams from Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 into a Bury schools competition. The games took place at Phillips High School. Salford City Reds organised the games. Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 qualified for the next round of the competition at the AJ Bell Stadium in June. The Year 7 team were really unlucky as they came joint second but missed out on the number of tries scored by 1 try. All the students who attended were excellent. The success is even more pleasing as we teach Rugby Union at Bury Church. Well done to all the students involved.
Basketball Update
Basketball Club is on every morning in the Sportshall from 8am to 8.30am. This club is open to all students. Basketball training is on every Tuesday after school from 3.35pm to 4.35pm in the Sportshall. Gary Davies who is an excellent Basketball coach is leading the Tuesday evening training sessions and we are lucky to have access to such an outstanding coach. Our Year 9 Sports Leaders are also helping out at the Tuesday evening training sessions. The Tuesday training is open to any students in Year 7 or Year 8. The Bury schools Basketball competitions have now finished but we hope to organise some training games against other schools.

Badminton club is on every morning in the Sportshall from 8am to 8.30am. This is open to all students. Badminton club is on every Monday and Friday lunch in the Sportshall and is again open to all students. We hope to arrange some friendly Badminton fixtures soon against other schools.
Athletics Success
Well done to Abi in Year 8 and Josh in Year 10 who were selected to represent Bury schools at the Greater Manchester Athletics competition on Saturday 9th June. The standard to qualify for this competition was really high. Abi competed in the 75 metre hurdles and come 3rd overall. Josh competed in the 1500 metres and came 3rd overall in his age group. Well done to both Abi and Josh on their excellent achievements.

Year 10 played in a Rounders rally at Phillips High School. The team came 3rd in their division.
Year 7 played Rounders against Bury Grammar and there were some really close games against strong opponents.
