Malawi Club
The Malawi club and Asdan group have been busy planning events to raise money for the children’s home in Malawi that our school supports. During the last week of the Christmas term they took part in a sweet and cake sale, a quiz, a cake competition and a Christmas jumper day, all with great prizes. As well as raising money for a good cause the pupils had a lot of fun.
The home supports 10 children aged 7 to 16 all of whom were previously homeless. We work with PFJ, a local charity who work in many nations. All the money raised will go directly to the home and will be taken to Malawi by the charity. The children are provided with food, clothes, medical needs and schooling in a family environment.
We have been very fortunate to be given a house for them. We are in the process of finishing the inside of it bit by bit, to enable them to have everything they need. The children are doing very well, 2 of them even finishing near the top of their class, despite not going to school before! They are so pleased to be living in a house with many friends and to be live in a place where they are looked after, cared for and loved. Thank you for your support.
