Baby Essentials Bags
Poppy, one of our Year 9 pupils, has taken the initiative to 'be the change she wants to see' in the world. She has organised and carried out several projects over the last three years to help those in need. For her latest project, she has created packs to help provide baby items for the less fortunate. Her work is an excellent example of a young person who is empathetic to those in need and who takes things further by working to make a difference. Poppy explains her charity work in her own words:
In year 7 I did sanitary boxes for women who had been trafficked and had nothing. In year 8 I gave children less fortunate than me, bags full of presents. In RE we are learning about how many children and babies are in poverty so I decided to collect donations from family and friends. So far I have £200 so I’m going to make baby essentials kits. I am aiming to make 20 - 10 for girls and 10 for boys. These kits will include nappies, baby wipes, nappy cream, baby wash, baby lotion, flannels, baby grows, baby vests, socks, nappy sacks and baby bibs. I am hoping to make even just a small difference by doing this.
