Friends Of Bury Church (Parent-Teacher Association)
The Friends are our Parent-Teacher association at Bury Church. We meet in school every first Monday of the month (calendar permitting) at 7.30pm, to discuss over refreshments, how best we can support the pupils and the school.
Our contribution ranges from serving refreshments at the consultation evenings, concerts and plays within school to holding fashion shows and other events throughout the year. The fundraising takes place so that all the proceeds can go to provide items school may need that is not covered in the school budget, to extend the experience and achievement of our children. The Friends also provide a useful conduit for ideas and opinion between parents and the school and organizes social activities to bring members of the school together such as quizzes and a Christmas markets shopping trip.
Any help is always appreciated and we especially look forward to seeing new members – you can just turn up to a Monday meeting or contact us by email first; however, if you cannot commit to attending regularly, one way you could contribute might be by joining our 200 Club:
This is a fund-raising venture run by the Friends. If you would like to try and win money every month then please consider joining our 200 Club. Forms are available from our Bursar, the cost is £15.00 a year and prizes are drawn each month. Cheques should be made payable to The Friends of Bury Church High School.
The Friends committee is chosen by the members at its annual General meeting each June. The Chairperson this year is Tracy Owen and her email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. We are always looking for fresh ideas to raise funds so please contact her if you have any or come along to a meeting – you will be very welcome.
